Even when menacing rockets and jets attempted to scorch the land, heroic pilots strapped into their Griffon-powered Spits to topple them. The new E-flite® Spitfire Mk XIV 1.2m has been developed to deliver great warbird performance and agility in addition to the distinctive elegance only possible with a Spitfire. The E-flite® Spitfire Mk XIV1.2m is a full-house park flyer that combines an unmistakable warbird with an impressive features list. An authentic trim scheme, big five-blade propeller, functional four-panel flaps and electric retracts are just a few of finely tuned details. Construction with Z-Foam™ material keeps the overall weight low and airframe durability high for enhanced performance in all aspects. Industry-leading DSMX® 2.4GHz control and specially tuned AS3X® technology deliver flight performance similar to that of an expertly set up model many times its size. Built-in SAFE® Select technology is a programming-free option you can activate during the bind process. With SAFE Select turned on you get a super-stable model with the security of envelope protection and self-leveling flight which can practically eliminate first-flight jitters. There is also a program-free option to assign SAFE Select to a transmitter switch so that you can take advantage of the system the instant you need a hand. Whether you're an intermediate pilot or scale aficionado, the formidable elegance of WWII British air superiority is yours to unleash. SAFE® Select Technology What if you're just a little intimidated by a brand new model? The evolutionary SAFE® Select technology in this Spitfire can offer an extra level of protection so you can perform the first flight with confidence. No complex transmitter programming is required. Just follow a simple bind process to make the SAFE Select system active. With it on, bank and pitch limitations keep you from over-controlling and automatic self-leveling makes recovery from risky or confusing attitudes as simple as releasing the sticks. In fact, with the aileron, elevator and rudder sticks in the neutral position, the model will automatically hold a heading with a straight and level attitude. You can even expand the advantage SAFE Select technology offers by assigning it to a switch. No transmitter programming is required and you'll be able to turn the system on and off with the flip of a switch. For example, turn SAFE select on for takeoffs that seem laser-straight. Turn it off in flight for unrestricted aerobatic performance and turn it back on when a buddy wants to try out your cool warbird. Turn SAFE Select on for landing. As you drop the flaps, SAFE Select reduces your work load by compensating for pitch changes automatically, regardless of throttle position. Plus it will help keep you on heading and wings level during the final approach. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, SAFE Select can make your flights more fun. When the normal bind process is followed, the SAFE Select system is disabled leaving specially tuned AS3X® technology in place to deliver a pure, unrestricted flight experience. Electric Retracts The installed main landing gear feature reliable electric retraction with covers over the steel struts, scale wheels and outer gear doors that enhance the authentic appearance. Functional Flaps Light wing loading, plus operational flaps, gives this warbird a significantly greater flight envelope with the ability to takeoff in shorter distances and land more slowly. 15-Size Brushless Power System The power system features a 15-size outrunner with 850Kv and a 40-amp ESC, that when combined with your 2200mAh 3S 25C Li-Po battery, delivers outstanding thrust. 5-Blade Propeller The specially made 10x8, 5-blade propeller, made of durable fiber-filled nylon, adds a distinctive level of authenticity and performance. Scale Trim Scheme The WWII color scheme features authentic trim and graphics including the characteristic goose-egg hue used on the spinner, tail band and squadron markings. Z-Foam™ Material Construction with durable Z-Foam™ material offers the ability to replicate complex detail with greater accuracy while providing a lightweight airframe that’s easy to maintain. Bind-N-Fly® Basic An evolution in ready-to-fly convenience, Bind-N-Fly Basic aircraft come out of the box with servos, power system and a Spektrum™ 2.4GHz DSMX® or DSM2® receiver already installed so that you can be flying in the time it takes to charge your flight battery.

  • VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) RC models are usually a mixed bag when it comes to performance. If they are stable, their speed and agility is often lackluster. If they are nimble, pilots have to work harder to transition between hovering and airplane flight. The Convergence™ VTOL park flyer changes all that. Its unique design and exclusive flight control software give you the best of both agility and stability while making the transition between multirotor and airplane flight so smooth and predictable, you will feel right at home your first time on the sticks. Sleek and Simple Unlike complex VTOL aircraft that rotate the entire wing and require as many as four motors to achieve vertical and forward flight, the Convergence park flyer uses a simple, yet sleek, delta-wing design with three brushless motors – two rotating motors on the wing and a fixed-position motor in the tail. In multirotor flight the wing-mounted motors rotate up into the vertical position to provide lift and flight control along with the motor in the tail. In airplane flight, the wing-mounted motors rotate down into the horizontal position and the model’s elevons take over pitch and bank control. Yaw control in airplane flight is provided by differential thrust from the wing-mounted motors. Exclusive Flight Control Software Makes it Easy At the heart of it all is flight control software that has been expertly tuned by designer, Mike McConville, so almost any RC pilot can experience the fun of VTOL flight. Automated Transition Making the transition between multirotor and airplane flight is as simple as flipping a switch. The flight controller will smoothly rotate the two wing-mounted motors into the correct flight attitude and activate the rear motor as needed. Stability and Acro Flight Modes These two flight modes give you a wide range of performance for every phase of flight. - Stability Mode In multirotor flight, Stability Mode will limit pitch and bank angles and work to keep the model level when you release the sticks. This allows you to take off and land like a pro, even if you’ve never flown a multirotor before. In airplane flight, it will limit pitch and bank angles and automatically return the wings to level when the sticks are released. Stability Mode automatically engages during the transition between multirotor and airplane flight. It seamlessly maintains self-leveling and angle limits from one phase of flight to the other, making this the easiest RC VTOL experience you will find anywhere. - Acro Mode In Acro Mode there are no angle limits or self-leveling in any phase of flight. During multirotor flight, the model will behave like a conventional multirotor that pitches and banks in whatever direction you want it to fly. It can flip and roll like other multirotors, too. In airplane flight, Acro Mode lets you perform a wide range of aerobatic maneuvers. And because you have the forward thrust of two brushless motors working for you, there is plenty of speed and power to spare. You can even use the differential thrust of the motors to perform unique spinning and tumbling maneuvers. FPV Ready The model is designed to accommodate several of the most popular FPV camera systems. There is a camera bay under the nose and a place to mount the video transmitter in the rear of the aircraft. Both locations are easy to access so installation takes just a few minutes. Recommended FPV System – All Items Sold Separately • Spektrum 650TVL CCD FPV Camera NTSC • Spektrum 25mW 5.8GHz Video Transmitter • Power Adapter • Spektrum 4.3-Inch Video Monitor with Headset Super-Simple Transmitter Setup This Bind-N-Fly® version can be flown with any full-range, 6+ channel DSMX®/DSM2® aircraft transmitter and comes equipped with a Spektrum serial receiver that is connected to the flight controller. No complex transmitter setup or programming is required. You use your “GEAR” switch for selecting Stability or Acro mode and your “AUX 1” switch to transition between multirotor and airplane flight.

Together, they have created some of the best flying RC airplanes in the world. This one is no exception. Its lightweight construction, long wingspan and efficient aerodynamics give it a wide range of capabilities that includes everything from sport aerobatics to soaring. It even gives you the ability to put yourself in the pilot’s seat with FPV gear while using a GoPro Hero 3, Hero 4 or similar class camera to record HD video at the same time.* This Bind-N-Fly® version comes with the added benefit of a Spektrum™ AS3X® receiver that features optional SAFE Select technology. Advanced Aerodynamics and Lightweight Construction Central to the aircraft’s amazing capabilities are the advanced aerodynamics that shaped its design. In addition to its efficient airfoil, winglets and fins on the fuselage help the model track true in all kinds of air. Vortex generators near the leading edge of the top of the wing, and just ahead of the elevons on the bottom of the wing, enhance slow speed stability and control. The airframe itself is constructed of carbon-reinforced, hollow-core Z-Foam™ material that keeps weight to a minimum while maintaining strength and rigidity. Easy to Assemble and Transport One of the model’s most impressive features is how easy it makes it for you to take it with you anywhere. Its plug-in wing panels and winglets are secured with thumbscrews so assembly or disassembly can be done in a matter of minutes. And the box it comes in is designed to function as a carrying case complete with a handle. AS3X Receiver with Optional SAFE Select Technology The model’s AS3X (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) receiver works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is a sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you’re flying an expertly tuned aircraft. This receiver also features optional SAFE® Select technology that you can turn on and off with the flip of a transmitter switch. With SAFE Select technology activated, you get: Pitch and Bank Angle Limits These keep the aircraft from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles during launch and landing. Automatic Self-Leveling Instantly returns the wings to level when the sticks are released. During launch, you can turn SAFE Select technology on to keep the wing level and in the perfect climb attitude until you get both hands back on the controls. If you are flying FPV with a headset, activating SAFE Select technology will allow you to relax and enjoy the view without worrying about trying to stay level or getting disoriented and losing control. High-Output Brushless Power System with Folding Prop The high-output power system provides more than enough power for carrying camera payloads or performing sport aerobatics. When you want to power off and grab a thermal, the folding prop reduces drag so you can glide longer. Up to 3 Camera Mounting Stations Available In addition to a sleek, low-drag nose for soaring and flying aerobatics, the Opterra wing includes an optional camera nose with up to two forward-facing stations for FPV or HD cameras.
